Wild Alaskan Salmon

Bristol Bay, Alaska is one of the world’s most spectacular and productive marine ecosystems and home to the largest commercial wild salmon fishery on the planet. This page provides an overview of the region’s vast watershed and the annual sockeye migration that sees tens of millions of fish return to their native rivers each summer. It also highlights the science-based management and sustainability practices that ensure these thriving salmon populations remain healthy for generations to come.

Steelhead

SalMar raises and processes its fish across a fully integrated value chain with primary farming regions located in Central and Northern Norway. These operations are supported by advanced smolt facilities and major processing plants like InnovaMar and InnovaNor that prepare the fish for shipment to over 50 countries. The company also produces fish through Iceland's Westfjords, offshore farming units in the open ocean, and a partnership with Scottish Sea Farms in the UK.

Trout

Riverence raises fish on land to better capture waste and reuse water, reducing the environmental footprint and the reliance on marine resources. Their Idaho farms are the first land-based freshwater facilities in the United States to earn ASC certification for meeting the world's highest standards for responsible aquaculture. The company further supports the environment by generating one-third of its own energy through on-farm hydropower and repurposing all byproducts into nutrient-rich pet foods and organic fertilizers.
